Why Drug and Alcohol Test?

Research has shown that businesses who perform drug and alcohol testing hire more productive, healthier, and happier employees. Businesses may also be able to save on insurance premiums, healthcare costs, and reduce their liability in the event of an accident.

Multiple governmental and private research organizations in the United States and around the world have been reporting statistics on illicit drug and alcohol use and the effects it has on businesses for decades. Estimates are that $81 to $120 billion dollars in productivity is lost every year in the United States, either because a user cannot participate in the workforce due to their drug use, is in a drug abuse treatment facility, is incarcerated, or suffers a premature death.

Users of illicit drugs were also about 1½ times more likely to miss work due to an injury or illness and were twice as likely to skip work two or more days each month.

Regardless of the size of your business, or the industry that you are in, chances are good that you will, or you already have, an employee that uses drugs or abuses alcohol. The best way to find out is to perform drug and alcohol tests when necessary. We can help your business have a safer, happier, and more productive workforce.
